OCD CM Testing for Port State Control
OCD CM Testing for Port State Control Inspection Models Referred to OCD CM OCD CM with Autoclean OCD CM ABMS On power up all OCD CM variants will run through a self checking process to confirm all parts of the system are working correctly. 1. Display will indicate FC (Factory Calibration) 2. Display will count down from 40-0 ppm 3. When display passes alarm set point, alarm LED’s go out and the overboard valve will open. 4. Display will count up from 0 to 40 ppm. 5. When display passes alarm set point, alarm LED’s will illuminate and the overboard valve will close. 6. Once display reaches 40 ppm, the unit will revert to the monitoring mode and display PPM. The ABMS variants will carry out the clean water flush and auto zero reset. This process should be sufficient to check the overboard valve is being controlled by the monitor. Further checks on the basic unit can be made by obscuring the light in the measuring cell by inserting a thin object to block the light path. Any alarm so generated will also cause the overboard valve to close. On units fitted with autoclean or ABMS add on modules, then the fault alarm can be activated by inducing a wiping cycle on the autoclean by using the override on the autoclean air solenoid valve. Rotating the plastic override device will cause the plunger to travel down and obscure the light, causing an alarm and closing the overboard valve. By rotating the override button back to it’s original position, the plunger will then be returned to the parked position and the alarm should clear and re-open the overboard valve, if permissible.
